Feather light and as graceful as the wind, Turkish Angoras are the very embodiment of elegance on feline legs. When they move they seem to float above the ground, with waves of gossamer fur flowing from their finely made, lithe form. The long delicate legs and ethereal expression of the Turkish Angora is enthralling. Their beauty is matched by their energetic and charming playfulness. The Turkish Angora's long muscular body flows though the air when it leaps and bounds in endless chases and games. It's high set ears and wide intense eyes hold endless curiosity and love for the people lucky enough to share their lives with this enchanting creature. Angoras are devoted to giving unending affection to their humans, and they expect nothing less in return, for they are truly worthy of worship. When perfection takes the form of a cat, it is a Turkish Angora.
I breed the Vickie's Petz Zoo

I've always wanted an odd-eyed white cat. And odd-eyed white Turkish angoras are just soooo beautiful. I just love Jewel, she is so sweet. And she loves to pose! So much so that it's hard to get a non-posing pic of her! But when the camera isn't out, she's very bouncy and playful. Her name comes from the Live song Mirror Song, and it's also the name of the album that the song is on. Have I ever mentioned how awesome of a band Live is? Uh, well, yeah, it is. And Jewel is now one of my favorite catz, she's very pretty! And when she champed I was so happy! |
Darkness: Turn off the Sun |

Isn't Darkness the sexiest thing on four legs?? Oh yes, he most definitely is. Long silky black fur and glowing yellow eyes . . . How could you resist? You can't! That's right, surrender to Darkness! You know you want to! Ooooh, okay, I think I'm getting carried away . . . His name is from The Perfect Drug, a great song by Nine Inch Nails. |
Crazy Love |
Formal Name: Ch Black Mist's Crazy Love Call Name: Crazy Gender: Female Breed: Turkish Angora Birth Date: February 12, 2005 Registration: PKC Fully Registered - #A26616 Lineage: 1st gen. hexed Origin: Hexed at Black Mist Snow Points: 4 Major / 6 Minor |
Crazy! Weee! She's a crazy turk! Uh . . . yeah, I'm insane, get used to it. Anyway, I swear that Crazy's name has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she was adopted near Valentine's day! I just happened to listening to Crazy Love by Paul Simon while trying to think up names and hexing ideas for Turkish Angoras. And it just all came together when I saw a pic of an orange tabby and white turk. So . . . there. This is Crazy, she's cute, and um, crazy. |
Breakfast at Tiffany's |
Formal Name: Black Mist's Breakfast at Tiffany's Call Name: Tiffany Gender: Female Breed: Turkish Angora Birth Date: May 11, 2005 Registration: PKC Fully Registered - #A28860 Lineage: 1st gen. hexed Origin: Hexed at Black Mist Snow Points: 0 Major / 2 Minor |
I couldn't stand to be without a dilute calico Turk anymore, so I had to get Tiffany. She's named after the movie, cuz I love that movie and I love the name Tiffany. I just adore Audrey Hepburn, she was so adorable! (My mom is a real old movie buff, so I end up watching a lot of old movies too) I think if she was a cat she'd be a Turkish Angora. So I hexed Tiffany in her honor. A rather simple hexie, but elegant, I think. |
Vertigo: Further Down the Spiral |
Formal Name: Black Mist's Further Down the Spiral Call Name: Vertigo Gender: Male Breed: Turkish Angora Birth Date: May 10, 2005 Registration: None Lineage: 1st gen. hexed Origin: Hexed at Black Mist |
I love this kitty! I spent a long time trying to get his markings just right, and I like how they turned out. I love the word vertigo, it's cool. Kitty helped me think of his show name. But poor Vertigo got a shotty deal from the PKC. When I hexed him blue/green odd eyes were DQ'd for some inexplicable reason. Once I waited for the standard to be updated, they told me he wasn't realistic because his blue eye wasn't completely surrounded by white. That makes no sense at all, because I have seen countless pictures of odd eyed cats and other animals, and they don't follow any pattern of color versus white. And also his tail is now faulted, because white tail tips are so highly selected against IRL as to be almost non existent. But of course I didn't know that when I hexed him, and that wasn't a rule in the PKC until they updated the standard to allow his green eye! |
